You don't have to be a professional business man to have private data which must be protected. You may have some files which you don't want to share with others. If you encrypt them, you can make sure that no one will be able to read your sensitive information. CryptDecrypt provides a simple, but effective solution. It includes various encryption algorithms, which you can use to render your files unreadable, until you decrypt them.

If you are using Windows 98 or any later edition up to Windows 7, CryptDecrypt will work on your computer, regardless of its hardware. The setup file is only 707 KB, so you can download it swiftly, even with a slower and outdated Internet connection. You will not encounter any difficulties during the installation process, so it will not take too much time until you can enjoy the software's capabilities.

The program lets you encrypt any number of files, regardless of size or format. You can target your files by adding them to a list, which takes up most of the interface. Once loaded, you may select one or more files, just like on a standard explorer window. Clicking the Encrypt option, on the software's toolbar, will display a small window, where you may create a new password and select an encryption algorithm. CryptDecrypt supports AES, GOST, RC2 and other algorithms.

If you attempt to run an encrypted file, you will encounter different errors, depending on the file's type. Windows will tell you that its version is not supported, documents or image previews will not load and so on. To decrypt your files, you must click a different option and type your password. You may switch to an explorer-style layout, on the program's interface, and browse through your files. If you access an encrypted item, CryptDecrypt will prompt you for the password. If you provide the correct password, the file will open immediately.

The software provides a file shredder as well. If you click the Shredder option, while your files are selected, the software will delete and overwrite the file. Once shredded, no one will be able to restore your data, even with the most powerful recovery software on the market.

Pros

You may encrypt any number of files, without too much effort. The software supports various encryption protocols and it works quite fast. What's more, CryptDecrypt comes with a file shredder, which you can use to erase your data permanently.

Cons

The trial period lasts for only 10 days. Your privacy is ensured with CryptDecrypt. Thanks to its powerful, yet easy to use features, no one will be able to access your important files.
